Wang Yi Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs and CARICOM Affairs Dennis Moses of Trinidad and Tobago

On the afternoon of January 21, 2018 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Santiago with Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Dennis Moses of Trinidad and Tobago, who was attending the Second Ministerial Meeting of the Forum of China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States.

Wang Yi expressed that China and Trinidad and Tobago enjoy traditional friendship. After President Xi Jinping visited Trinidad and Tobago in 2013, bilateral relations entered a new stage. Exchanges in various fields and at various levels between the two sides have been continuously conducted and practical cooperation has developed smoothly, bringing tangible benefits to the people of the two countries. The Chinese side appreciates that Trinidad and Tobago supports and participates in the "Belt and Road" construction, and is willing to further deepen cooperation between the two sides so as to realize mutual benefit and win-win results.

Dennis Moses agreed with Wang Yi's positive comment on bilateral relations, expressed that Trinidad and Tobago thanked China for providing support and assistance for the development of Trinidad and Tobago, and thanked Chinese and overseas Chinese for making contributions to Trinidad and Tobago. Trinidad and Tobago supports the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", and stands ready to make greater efforts to promote the development of relations between Caribbean countries and China.
