Vice Foreign Minister Li Jinzhang Meets with Dominican Ambassador to China David King Hsiu

On August 19, 2006, Vice Foreign Minister Li Jinzhang met with Dominican Ambassador to China David King Hsiu and accepted the RMB-300,000 donation for poverty alleviation from the Dominican embassy. Li spoke highly of the contributions made by Ambassador David King Hsiu to the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Dominica and enhancing the mutual understanding of the two peoples and exchanges in such fields as economy, trade, education and culture, thanked him for the frequent donations made by the embassy for the poverty reduction efforts of the ministry. The latest donation to build a primary school in Yongde county, Lincang city, Yunnan province is recognized by the Dominican Prime Minister and David King Hsiu indicated that from now on the Dominican embassy to China would make donation to build one school every year. The Dominican students studying in China also participate in the poverty relief efforts, which Dominica hopes will help the Dominican people understand the poor Chinese regions and spread the Chinese culture and spirit to Dominica.
