In the afternoon of July 17, 2013, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Great Hall of the People with Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit of the Commonwealth of Dominica, who came to China to attend the Eco-Forum Global 2013 in Guiyang.

Li Keqiang said that since the establishment of diplomatic relationship, China and Dominica have always treated each other with mutual respect and equality. China is willing to work with Dominica to consolidate the foundation for bilateral friendship and to explore new models for strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, clean energy, medical care and transportation, to push for more results of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Li Keqiang pointed out that sustainable development is a global topic concerning long-term and realistic interests of all countries. While developing industrial civilization, China integrates ecological civilization into the overall modernization process and seeks for a win-all result of economic growth, improvement of people’s livelihood and ecological protection. Dominica and other Caribbean countries boast rich experience in green, recycling and low-carbon development. Both sides can strengthen exchanges and cooperation in coping with climate change and achieving sustainable development and work together to advance the environment and development cause of the whole mankind.

Skerrit said that Dominica and other Caribbean countries thank China for the long-term support and assistance. They highly appreciate China for safeguarding the interests of developing countries in international affairs. They are willing to deepen cooperation with China in all fields to push forward Dominica-China and Caribbean-China relations.
