Wang Yi Meets with Minister for Foreign Affairs Peter David of Grenada

On April 26, 2019, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Minister for Foreign Affairs Peter David of Grenada, who was in China for the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

Wang Yi said that China and Grenada have always supported each other on issues concerning each other's core interests and major concerns. The Chinese side appreciates the Grenadian side's adherence to the one-China principle and stands ready to deepen practical cooperation and strengthen coordination and cooperation in international affairs with the Grenadian side. The Chinese side welcomes Grenada to join the big family of the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and believes that this will inject impetus into Grenada's national development and construction and push for more achievements in the development of bilateral relations. The Chinese side is ready to synergize the Belt and Road Initiative with Grenada's national strategic plan 2030 so as to share opportunities and draw on each other's strengths for the greater benefit of the two peoples.

Peter David noted that since Grenada restored diplomatic relations with China, bilateral relations have been developing smoothly. Grenada thanks the Chinese side's strong support and assistance to Grenada and appreciates the Chinese side's efforts to uphold justice in international affairs and maintain peace. The Grenadian side will continue to adhere to the one-China principle, actively participate in the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and deepen practical cooperation with the Chinese side in various fields.
