On July 11, 2022, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Haitham Al Ghais.

Ambassador Zhang said, as the world’s most important international organization for the oil sector, OPEC plays a vital role in ensuring a stable oil supply across the globe. China attaches high importance to forging a close partnership with OPEC and will deepen cooperation with its member nations to jointly stabilize the global oil market.

Haitham said China is an important dialogue partner of OPEC and OPEC will work to advance the dialogue and cooperation with the Chinese side.
