On December 10, 2021, Director-General of the Department of Policy Planning of the Foreign Ministry Miao Deyu attended the Sixth BRICS Foreign Policy Planning Dialogue via video link. The Dialogue was presided over by Director of the Policy Planning & Research Division of the Ministry of External Affairs of India Sumit Seth and attended by responsible officials of the policy planning divisions of the foreign ministries of Russia, South Africa and Brazil. All parties exchanged in-depth views on international and regional situations, multilateral system reform and foreign policy planning.

Director-General Miao Deyu introduced the spirit of the sixth plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and stressed China's diplomacy in the new era that features having the wellbeing of the world in mind and building a community with a shared future for mankind. In the face of the turbulent international situation, BRICS countries should implement the consensus reached among our leaders, uphold multilateralism, oppose value-oriented diplomacy and political confrontation in the name of diplomacy, safeguard the international system with the United Nations at its core and the international order underpinned by international law, and contribute positive energy to multilateral collaboration and common development.
