On January 21, 2021, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Cui Aimin held a consultation on anti-pandemic cooperation with Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Y. Smolenskiy via video link. Representatives of Chinese and Russian health and epidemic prevention departments, customs offices, and embassies in each other attended the meeting.

The two sides confirmed that they will jointly reduce the cross-border transmission of the pandemic, maintain healthy personnel exchanges and safe and orderly flow of goods, and continuously deepen practical cooperation between the two countries.
