On September 19, 2022, Special Representative Liu Yuxi of the Chinese Government on African Affairs held talks with Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of External Relations of Cameroon Chinmoun Oumarou in Yaounde. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of common interest. Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon Wang Yingwu was present.

Liu Yuxi asked Oumarou to convey warm greetings and sincere wishes from State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Minister Mbella Mbella of External Relations. Liu Yuxi said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cameroon, the two countries have adhered to sincerity and friendship, equality, and win-win cooperation, continued to consolidate and deepen traditional friendship, and firmly supported each other on issues concerning each other's core interests. In recent years, pragmatic cooperation between the two countries has yielded fruitful outcomes, and a large number of cooperation projects have been completed. The Chinese side stands ready to take the implementation of the follow-up actions of the eighth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as an opportunity to strengthen the alignment of development strategies of the two sides, and advance the transformation and upgrade of pragmatic cooperation between the two countries.

Oumarou asked Liu Yuxi to convey warm greetings from Minister Mbella Mbella of External Relations to State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, spoke highly of the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative put forward by President Xi Jinping, and commended the fruitful outcomes of pragmatic cooperation between the two countries. On behalf of the Cameroonian side, Oumarou reiterated that Cameroon is firmly committed to the one-China policy, supports China's efforts in safeguarding the state sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, and is willing to strengthen communication and coordination between the two sides in international and regional affairs. The Cameroonian side stands ready to work with the Chinese side to deepen cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, telecommunications, and other fields, and welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest and operate in Cameroon.

At the invitation of the Cameroonian side, Special Representative Liu Yuxi paid a friendly visit to Cameroon from September 17 to 20, and inspected some cooperation projects between China and Cameroon during his visit.
