Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs Liu Yuxi Meets with Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on International Relations and Cooperation of the South African National Assembly Supra Obakeng Ramoeletsi Mahumapelo

On October 15, 2024, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs Liu Yuxi met with a delegation led by Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on International Relations and Cooperation of the South African National Assembly Supra Obakeng Ramoeletsi Mahumapelo, and the two sides had an exchange of views on China-South Africa relations as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest and concern.

Liu Yuxi said that this visit is the first joint visit to China by members of the National Assembly from various political parties after the establishment of the Government of National Unity of South Africa. China is ready to further enhance exchanges and cooperation with the new South African government and the National Assembly, and work together to achieve fruitful results in advancing the all-round strategic cooperative partnership between China and South Africa in the new era.

Supra Obakeng Ramoeletsi Mahumapelo appreciated China's development achievements and its support for Africa, and expressed willingness to deepen practical cooperation with the Chinese side and jointly make a voice of the "Global South" in the international arena.
