Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Jinzhang and Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry of Uruguay Pedro Vaz Ramela Hold the 7th Political Consultation Conference between the Two Foreign Ministries

On June 3, 2008, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Jinzhang and visiting Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry of Uruguay Pedro Vaz Ramela held the seventh political consultation conference between the two Foreign Ministries in Beijing. Both sides made positive comments on bilateral ties, agreeing to take the opportunity of the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic ties to expand exchanges, deepen cooperation and push forward China-Uruguay friendly cooperative relations of long-term stability, equality and mutual benefits. Both sides also exchanged in-depth views on international and regional issues of common concern. Pedro Vaz Ramela announced that the Uruguayan government will offer 100,000 U.S. dollars worth of water purification equipment to China's quake-hit Sichuan Province. He also conveyed 9,000 RMB yuan donated by the Uruguayan embassy in China to the people in the affected area. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Jinzhang expressed thanks for the donation on behalf of Chinese government.
