Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Qin Gang's Remarks on International Criminal Court's New Arrest Warrant against Sudanese President
Updated: July 16, 2010 17:30

Q: It is reported that the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued a new arrest warrant against Sudanese President on genocide charge. How do you comment?

A: Positive progress is being made in the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and the Darfur issue is improving. It is welcomed and applauded by the international community, particularly the African countries. We hope that relevant institutions heed more opinions from the African Union, the League of Arab States and the relevant regional countries and, in the interest of the overall situation, play a constructive role in realizing lasting peace and stability in Sudan and the region.
