Xi Jinping Attends the Farewell Ceremony Held by Kim Jong Un

On June 21, 2019 local time, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and President Xi Jinping left Pyongyang for Beijing after a state visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). Before leaving, Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan attended the farewell ceremony held at the airport by Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju.

At around 3 p.m. local time, the DPRK people lined up along the way to saw Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan off. When they arrived at the airport, Kim Jong Un and his wife greeted them warmly. Xi Jinping waved to the DPRK people from all walks of life as they greeted him. The military band played the national anthems of China and the DPRK, and Xi Jinping, accompanied by Kim Jong Un, inspected the honor guard of the three services of the Korean People's Army. The DPRK children presented flowers to Xi Jinping and Peng Liyuan. Xi Jinping shook hands with senior officials from the DPRK who saw him off at the airport. At the gangway of his special plane, Xi Jinping and Kim Jong Un shook hands and bid farewell to each other. Xi Jinping and his wife walked on the gangway, turned at the door and waved goodbye to Kim Jong Un and his wife.

Ding Xuexiang, Yang Jiechi, Wang Yi, He Lifeng, and others attended the farewell ceremony.

Choe Ryong Hae, Pak Pong Ju, Ri Yong Ho, Ri Man Gon, Ri Su Yong, Choe Hwi, Ri Yong Gil, No Kwang Chol, Ri Ryong Nam, Kim Nung O, Kim Yo Jong and others were present at the ceremony.
