On February 20, 2023, Special Envoy Zhai Jun of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue attended the handover ceremony of the National Certificate of Honor for Academic Diplomacy in Support of Palestinian Rights and delivered remarks.

Zhai Jun said, China always firmly supports the Palestinian people's just cause of restoring their lawful national rights, and will continue to speak up for Palestine on international multilateral arena, try the utmost to provide assistance to Palestine, and promote the early resumption of peace talks between Palestine and Israel. China calls on the international community to take substantial steps to advance the "two-state solution" to realize a fundamental peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel.

Honor for Academic Diplomacy in Support of Palestinian Rights is a national-level academic diplomacy award granted by the Palestinian government and supported by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to outstanding figures supporting the just cause of Palestine, who are selected around the world every year. In 2022, three Chinese scholars, namely Professor Wang Guangda of Shanghai International Studies University, Professor Luo Lin and a young teacher Bai Ye of Beijing Language and Culture University, were awarded the honor.
