External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping Meets with Kyrgyz Ambassador to China Baktygulova Kanaiym

On February 23, 2022, External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping met with Kyrgyz Ambassador to China Baktygulova Kanaiym at the latter's request. The two sides mainly exchanged views on bilateral relations, counter-terrorism and security cooperation.

Cheng Guoping said, during the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, President Xi Jinping and President Sadyr Zhaparov successfully held their first face-to-face meeting and reached broad consensus. China stands ready to work with Kyrgyzstan to jointly implement the important consensus reached between the two leaders, and promote China-Kyrgyzstan comprehensive strategic partnership to achieve new development. The two sides should continue to deepen counter-terrorism and security cooperation to inject new impetus into the development of bilateral relations and stability into regional peace and security.

Baktygulova expressed her warm congratulations on the complete success of the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022. Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to developing relations with China and is ready to work with China to wholeheartedly implement the outcomes of the meeting between the two leaders and comprehensively deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas. Kyrgyzstan is willing to continue to strengthen cooperation with China in the field of security, make counter-terrorism cooperation more effective, and safeguard regional security and stability.
