Recently, Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yue Xiaoyong respectively met with Pakistani Ambassador to China Moin ul Haque, Uzbek Ambassador to China Farhod Arziev, and Russia's Permanent Representative to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Secretariat and Minister-Counsellor of the Russian Embassy in China Natalia Stepkina in Beijing, and exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan and regional cooperation related to Afghanistan with them.
All parties agreed to further give play to the role of the Mechanism for Coordination and Cooperation among the Neighboring Countries of Afghanistan, implement the common understandings reached at all the foreign ministers' meetings among the neighboring countries of Afghanistan including the Tunxi meeting, support Uzbekistan in successfully hosting the fourth Foreign Ministers' Meeting among the Neighboring Countries of Afghanistan, call on Afghanistan to build a broad-based and inclusive government, exercise moderate and prudent governance and resolutely combat terrorism, and further expand the concerted efforts of the international community in stabilizing and assisting Afghanistan.
