On February 1, 2023, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs Liu Yuxi visited the Gabonese Embassy in China to extend condolences over the death of Gabonese Foreign Minister Michael Moussa-Adamo, and, on behalf of the Chinese side, expressed sincere sympathies to his family.

Chargé d'affaires a.i. Pambou Mavoungou Guy Arnaud of the Gabonese Embassy in China thanked the Chinese side for highly recognizing Foreign Minister Moussa’s positive contributions to the development of Gabon-China friendly relations, and expressed willingness to continue to work with China to push forward the Gabon-China comprehensive cooperative partnership.
