Secretary General of the Chinese Follow-up Committee of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Holds Consultation with the Diplomatic Envoys of African Countries to China

On April 3, 2019, Secretary General of the Chinese Follow-up Committee of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Dai Bing held consultation with the diplomatic envoys of African countries to in China, carrying out in-depth communication on promoting the implementation of the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit. The consultation was co-chaired by Dai Bing and Senegalese Ambassador to China Mamadou Ndiaye. Senegal is the co-chair of the FOCAC. Head of the delegation of diplomatic envoys of African countries to China and Cameroonian Ambassador to China Martin Mpana, and other diplomatic African envoys to China and representatives of African Union in China attended the meeting. Ambassador for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zhou Yuxiao, and representatives from the Ministry of Commerce, the China International Development Cooperation Agency, the National Development and Reform Commission, China Development Bank, the Export-Import Bank of China, China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, China-Africa Development Fund, the China-Africa Fund for Industrial Cooperation and other departments were present at the consultation.

Dai Bing introduced the progress of the implementation of the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit. He said that that once we make commitments, we will deliver on our commitment with concrete actions. And this is one of the major features and important principles of China's cooperation with Africa. The Chinese side will continue to actively intensify coordination and integration with the African side to speed up the implementation of the summit outcomes and strive for more early harvests.

Speaking highly of the great success of the Beijing Summit, the diplomatic envoys appreciated the positive progress in the implementation of the outcomes, and thanked the FOCAC Chinese Follow-up Committee for its effective work as well as expressed the willingness to step up communication and coordination with the Chinese Follow-up Committee to jointly well implement the outcomes of the summit.
