Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Dai Bing Attends the Sixth Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa

From November 18 to 19, 2019, Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Dai Bing attended the sixth Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa held in Senegal. In his speech at the plenary session, Dai Bing briefed on the Chinese side's efforts to promote peace and stability in Africa. He expressed that as peace and stability in Africa concerns stability and development of the world, African countries and the international community should pursue a vision of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security, ensure African countries' leading role in peace and security affairs of Africa, practice multilateralism and win-win cooperation, drive sustainable development in Africa, and stay committed to tackling both the symptoms and the root causes, so as to make greater contributions to lasting peace and stability in Africa.

On the sidelines of the forum, Dai Bing met with Senegalese Foreign Minister Amadou Ba and Diplomatic Adviser to the President of Senegal Oumar Demba Ba respectively. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on China-Senegal relations, affairs related to Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and topics of common interest. Both sides spoke highly of China-Senegal cooperation outcomes and expressed that as the co-chairs of the FOCAC, China and Senegal are willing to further enhance communication and coordination to push bilateral relations and the FOCAC for more achievements.
