Assistant Foreign Minister Deng LiMeets with Senegalese Ambassador to China

On September 15, 2020, Assistant Foreign Minister Deng Li met with Senegalese Ambassador to China Mamadou Ndiaye. Senegal is the co-chair of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

Deng Li said, China and Senegal are comprehensive strategic and cooperative partners as well as co-chairs of the FOCAC. Thanks to the care and support of the two heads of state, China-Senegal relations have enjoyed smooth development in an all-round way, and cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the FOCAC. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Senegalese side to implement the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit and the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity Against COVID-19 to promote greater development in China-Africa relations.

Mamadou Ndiaye said, the Senegalese side is willing to actively play the role of the African co-chair of the FOCAC and work with the Chinese side to strengthen cooperation in fighting against COVID-19, and restoring the economy and enhancing people's livelihood, so as to strive for more results in cooperation under the FOCAC framework.
