On May 11, 2015, when visiting South Sudan, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs Zhong Jianhua, together with Ma Qiang, Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan, took a special trip to the headquarters of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UMMISS) to extend warm regards to officers and soldiers of the Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion there and learn about their work, life and so on.

Special Representative Zhong Jianhua highly appreciated the Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion for showing no fear, standing fast at their post, conquering difficulties and excellently fulfilling tasks in face of a war-ravaged harsh environment, and expressed his hope that the officers and soldiers will fully demonstrate the good image of the Chinese army as a mighty, civilized and peaceful force in the African continent far apart from the motherland and make positive contribution to the international peacekeeping cause.
