On February 1, 2024, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Wu Xi held the fifth round of Consular Consultations with Director-General for Legal Affairs of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany Tania von Uslar-Gleichen and Commissioner for Legal and Consular Affairs Christian Klein in Berlin, the capital of Germany.

The two sides had an exchange of views and reached common understandings on such issues as developing consular relations, facilitating personnel exchanges and safeguarding the safety and legitimate rights and interests of overseas citizens and institutions.
