On June 26, 2023, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Latin American Affairs Qiu Xiaoqi held talks with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia Francisco J. Coy G. Chargé d'affaires a.i. Zhang Liping of the Chinese Embassy in Colombia was present at relevant events.

Special Representative Qiu Xiaoqi said that Colombia is an important cooperative partner of China in the Latin American region. China is ready to further enhance high-level exchanges with Colombia, tap the potential of practical cooperation, strengthen communication and coordination in multilateral affairs, and deepen exchanges and cooperation between the two foreign ministries. The Colombian side expressed admiration for China's development achievements, spoke highly of the current bilateral relations, reaffirmed its firm commitment to the one-China principle, and expressed readiness to continuously deepen bilateral friendship and strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields. The two sides also had an exchange of views on international and regional issues of mutual interest and concern.
