Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Jia Guide Attends the 2019 China Forum on International Legal Cooperation

From November 10 to 11, 2019, the 2019 China Forum on International Legal Cooperation, hosted by China Law Society, was held in Guangzhou successfully. President Xi Jinping pointed out in his congratulatory letter message to the forum that jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative requires legal guarantees. China is ready to work with other countries to create a sound legal environment, establish a set of global economic and trade rules that is fair, reasonable and transparent and promote high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative to better benefit people from various countries. It is hoped that the participants will focus on the theme of Deepening international legal cooperation: Making joint contributions to the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthen exchanges, build consensus and facilitate the development and improvement of relevant legal systems, so as to let the rule of law play a better role in the building of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Wang Chen, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Director of the China Law Society, and Li Xi, Member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, attended and addressed the forum. About 400 representatives from China, more than 40 countries along the Belt and Road and 4 international organizations were present at the forum. Chen Xunqiu, Secretary of the Party Group and Executive Deputy Director of the Chinese Law Society presided over the forum and a chair's statement of the 2019 China Forum on International Legal Cooperation was adopted at the forum.

Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Jia Guide addressed the opening ceremony and chaired relevant discussions of the forum as vice president of the forum's organizing committee.
