On May 9, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Liberia hosted the opening ceremony of the 7th Term of China-aided Liberia Bamboo and Rattan Weaving, Fruit and Vegetable Planting and Livestock Raising Technical Assistance Project. H.E. Ambassador Yin Chengwu,, Hon. J. Cole Bangalu, Liberian Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Samuel Enders, Montserrado County District 6 Representative, Hon. Ibrahim Nyei, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and other officials attended the event.
Ambassador Yin stated that the project serves as a window to understand China, an example of sustainable development, and the latest initiative to implement the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Beijing Summit. Ambassador Yin noted that China is committed to strengthening cooperation with Liberia to empower Liberian youth, to advance Liberia ARREST agenda, aiming to deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries. Ambassador Yin also Cited bamboo as a symbol of China’s unyielding spirit to expound China’s position on the U.S. abusive imposition of bullying tariff policy.
Minister Bangalu and others expressed gratitude for China’s long-term support for Liberia’s development. They urged trainees to actively share the skills they acquire to maximize the positive effective of the training, ultimately driving youth employment of Liberia.
