On June 16, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Zhou Ding met with Zimbabwean Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development Frederick Shava. The two sides engaged in-depth discussions on deepening cooperation in education, science and technology.
Ambassador Zhou spoke highly of the advancements in bilateral cooperation in higher education and scientific-technological innovation, noting that China stands ready to collaborate with the Ministry to implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, aiming to deepen cooperation in higher education and vocational education, support Zimbabwe in executing its national education strategy, enhance the nation's talent competitiveness, and jointly ensure the Global Civilization Initiative and China-Africa cultural exchanges bear more fruits in Zimbabwe.
Voicing appreciation for China's enduring support for Zimbabwe's science, technology and education undertakings, Minister Shava said Zimbabwe was looking forward to working with China to facilitate more collaborative projects, further empower Zimbabwe's sustainable development, and provide stronger talent and technological support for the country's drive towards industrialization and modernization.
