Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Guo Haiyan Attends the Seminar on China-Africa Modernization and the SGR Economic Belt

On June 19, the Africa Policy Institute(API) of Kenya hosted the China-Africa Modernization and the SGR Economic Belt--Third Seminar on the Outlook on Peace and Development in the Horn of Africa. Chinese Ambassador to Kenya H.E. Guo Haiyan, Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of China H.E.Xue Bing, President & CEO of API Prof. Kagwanja, government officials from Kenya Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Ministry of Roads and Transport, Kenya Railways, ambassadors from international organizations including African Union, East African Community, Intergovernmental Authority on Development, and regional countries to Kenya, experts and scholars,over 30 participants in total.

Participants in the seminar have praised the significant progress made by the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation over the past 25 years, particularly since the Beijing Summit. They appreciated China’s support for the Horn of Africa in building a network featuring land-sea links and coordinated development, expressed their willingness to jointly build SGR Economic Belt, and promote the implementation of the Outlook on Peace and Development in the Horn of Africa.
