General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Prime Minister of Vietnam Meet with Wang Yi

On November 3, 2017, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc of Vietnam met respectively with Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Hanoi.

Nguyen Phu Trong and Nguyen Xuan Phuc warmly congratulated on the complete success achieved by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and the establishment of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as a guiding ideology for the CPC. They expressed that Vietnam will learn and understand the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, and learn from beneficial and successful experience, so as to promote development of its own socialist cause. Vietnam attaches high importance to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping's upcoming attendance at the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Vietnam and state visit to the country, and will spare no efforts and make preparation for them carefully, in a bid to ensure the visit a complete success.

Wang Yi thanked Vietnam for its high attention and sincere congratulation to the 19th CPC National Congress. He introduced the main spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, and said that the destination of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping' first visit is Vietnam after the 19th CPC National Congress, which fully reflects the high importance China has attached to China-Vietnam relations. It is hoped that both sides could, through this visit, conduct strategic communication, enhance political mutual trust and make an overall design and a general plan for bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to elevate relations between the two parties and both countries to new stages.
