From February 13 to 14, 2023, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on European Affairs Wu Hongbo visited the European Union (EU) headquarters. He met respectively with Simon Mordue, Chief Foreign Policy Advisor to European Council President Charles Michel, and Gunnar Wiegand, Managing Director of the Asia and Pacific Department of the European External Action Service.

The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on developing China-EU relations, high-level exchanges, strengthening exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and international and regional hot-spot issues of mutual concern. They agreed that China and the EU should strengthen exchanges, properly manage differences and work together to meet global challenges.
