On April 13, 2023, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences of the Foreign Ministry Shen Bo met with Head of Regional Delegation for East Asia of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Pierre Krähenbühl at the latter's request. Shen Bo elaborated on the major decisions of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and China's Two Sessions of the National People's Congress and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He said that China is ready to work with the ICRC to contribute to the practicing of true multilateralism, the promotion of the spirit of international humanitarianism, and the advancement of world peace and common development. The two sides exchanged views on the current international humanitarian situation and regional hotspot issues of mutual interest and concern. Shen Bo expounded on China's positions on the Ukraine crisis and other issues.
