On April 19, 2023, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong summoned Chief Minister of the Embassy of Japan in China Koizumi Tsutomu, and made serious démarches to Japan, the host country of the Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers' meeting, over the negative moves concerning China at the G7 meeting, and expressed grave concern and strong indignation.
