On February 9, 2023, Director-General Wu Xi of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry met at request with Kazakh Ambassador to China Shakhrat Nuryshev. Wu Xi elaborated on the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's recent important speech on "correctly understanding and vigorously advancing Chinese modernization", and briefed on China's improved pandemic prevention & control policy. Both sides had an in-depth exchange of views on China-Kazakhstan consular relations, and agreed to further strengthen cooperation, provide more convenience for personnel exchanges between the two countries, and promote the development of China-Kazakhstan permanent comprehensive strategic partnership.
