On March 20, 2022, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Zhai Jun visited the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, Egypt. Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit met with Special Envoy Zhai Jun and his delegation. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening relations between China and the League of Arab States, promoting collective cooperation between China and the Arab world, and international and regional hotspot issues. Chinese Ambassador to Egypt and Representative to the League of Arab States Liao Liqiang attended the meeting.
