On August 9, 2022, Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li met with newly-appointed Algerian Ambassador to China Hassane Rabehi.

Deng Li welcomed Rabehi to China to take up the new post, noting that China and Algeria enjoy long-standing and profound friendship, the two countries have had close high-level exchanges and witnessed fruitful cooperation in various fields in recent years, and the two countries render mutual staunch support on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns. Under the new circumstances, the Chinese side stands ready to work with the Algerian side to actively promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two countries, jointly uphold the common interests of the vast developing countries, and work for the establishment of a fairer and more equitable international order.

Rabehi reiterated the Algerian side's firm commitment to the one-China principle, expressing that the Algerian side has firmly stood and will firmly stand with the Chinese side to support the Chinese side's efforts in safeguarding state sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Algerian side attaches great importance to developing relations with China, and stands ready to enhance bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and jointly strengthen solidarity and coordination among developing countries.
