On April 30, 2023, Pakistani Ambassador to China Moin ul Haque met with Director-General Liu Jinsong of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, and expressed heartfelt thanks to China on behalf of the Pakistani government for helping evacuate overseas Pakistanis in Sudan.

Moin ul Haque said that with the assistance of China, more than 200 overseas Pakistanis in Sudan have been evacuated safely aboard China's vehicles and military vessels. Feeling proud of that, they waved the national flags of Pakistan and China excitedly, and chanted "Long live the Pakistan-China friendship". The government and all sectors of Pakistan were deeply touched and expressed great gratitude. Pakistan and China have shared weal and woe and helped each other in difficult times in the past and at present, and the two countries will do so in the future. China's assistance in the evacuation efforts has demonstrated once again the strength, speed and heat of Pakistan-China friendship.

Liu Jinsong said that as China ensured the safe evacuation of its citizens, it made all-out efforts to help evacuation of overseas nationals of Pakistan and other countries that are friendly to China in Sudan through land-sea intermodal transport and close and sincere cooperation. This has shown once again the iron-clad friendship between China and Pakistan and China's responsibility as a major country. China always prioritizes Pakistan in its neighborhood diplomacy, and stands ready to work with Pakistan to continuously support each other to elevate bilateral relations to a higher level.
