On September 17, 2019, Liu Jinsong, Director-General of the Policy Planning Department of the Foreign Ministry and former Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan, attended upon invitation a photo exhibition of the Afghan famous photographer Fatimah Hossin. The photo exhibition was hosted by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, and attended by about 100 people including Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Afghan Embassy in China Musa Arefi and Counsellor of the Afghan Embassy in China Sayed Habiburahman Husinpur.

In his speech, Director-General Liu Jinsong shared his feelings about his career as Ambassador to Afghanistan, and briefed on the Chinese side's position on the peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan. He stressed that the Chinese and Afghan people have a common pursuit for truth, goodness and beauty and wished Afghanistan an early restoration of peace.
