Vice Foreign Minister Deng Li Meets with Serbian National Coordinator of Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries Tomislav Momirovic

On April 10, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister and Secretary-General of the Secretariat of Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) Deng Li met with Serbian National Coordinator of Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries and Serbian Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Tomislav Momirovic at the latter’s request. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on China-Serbia relations and China-CEEC cooperation, among others.

Deng Li said that in recent years, under the guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Aleksandar Vučić, China-Serbia relations have developed rapidly on all fronts, and the two sides are committed to respecting each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity, firmly oppose any external interference in internal affairs, and have become staunch strategic partners. China is advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization, and pursues high-quality development and high-standard opening up, which will bring more opportunities for the development of China-Serbia relations.

Deng Li pointed out that China is ready to further deepen practical cooperation with Serbia within the framework of China-CEEC cooperation, and enhance synergy of cooperation in such fields as economy, trade, tourism, investment, agriculture and transportation.

Momirovic highly appreciated China for its consistent respect for Serbia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and core interests, and noted that Serbia is ready to strengthen exchanges with China at all levels, deepen cooperation in various fields, actively participate in the third China-Central and Eastern European Countries Expo and relevant events, and jointly push for new and greater development of Serbia-China relations and China-CEEC cooperation.
