Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs Zhong Jianhua Visits South Sudan

From April 1 to 3, 2014, Zhong Jianhua, the Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs, paid a visit to South Sudan. He met respectively with President Salva Kiir Mayardit of South Sudan and Vice President James Wani Igga, exchanging views on the current situation in South Sudan and China-South Sudan relations. Zhong also exchanged views and coordinated positions with Hilde F. Johnson, Head of United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and Special Representative of UN Secretary-General, Tekeste Ghebray, Head of Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Joint Technical Committee and other officials at their request. H.E. Ma Qiang, Chinese Ambassador to South Sudan, was present at the above activities.
