On June 5, 2022, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with Kuwait’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Walid Ali Alkhubaizi.

Noting the longstanding and deep friendship between China and Kuwait, Ambassador Zhang said since the establishment of diplomatic relations 51 years ago, the two countries have achieved increasingly deeper mutual political trust, fruitful results in practical cooperation, and a booming growth in people-to-people exchanges. China stands ready to work alongside Kuwait to synergize our development strategies and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas, in an effort to add constant and new impetus to China-Kuwait strategic partnership.

For his part, Walid stressed that Kuwait places great emphasis on its relations with China and has had friendly exchanges and cooperation with China at bilateral, international and regional levels, adding that Kuwait is willing to work with China to follow through on the common understandings between the two leaders and strive for greater progress in Kuwait-China strategic partnership.
