On December 27, 2022, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with Kuwait’s Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Abdulaziz Waleed Abdullah Al-Mujil, with the presence of Cheng Yongru, Economic and Commercial Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait. The two sides exchanged views on practical cooperation between China and Kuwait.

Ambassador Zhang briefed him on the 20th CPC National Congress and the first China-Arab States Summit and the China-GCC Summit, noting that President Xi Jinping and Crown Prince Mishal had a successful meeting not long ago, providing guidance on the development of China-Kuwait relationship in the new era. China will work actively to implement the consensus reached by leaders of our two countries and strengthen synergy between our development strategies, in a push for greater progress in our strategic partnership.

For his part, Abdulaziz said Kuwait and China enjoy a long history of friendship, adding that Kuwait is ready to work with China, a major strategic partner of the country, to deepen our practical cooperation in various fields, so that bilateral cooperation will continue to achieve new fruits.
